The term ‘electric wicket’ comes from backyard cricket rules, and is a well known phrase throughout the cricketing world. It is enforced if a game of cricket is being played and there are not enough players for a wicket keeper. Therefore, an electric wicket keeper is put into play, who automatically catches any nicks, and stops all bad throws.
